What can be planted in the garden in November: Expert advice

November is a month when many summer residents and gardeners are already completing the main work on their plots, preparing the land for winter rest. However, there are some crops that can be planted at this time, and for which the cold weather is not an obstacle. Experts recommend several crops that can be planted in November to get an early harvest next year.

One of the main aspects of autumn planting is soil preparation. It is important not only to choose the right crops, but also to take care of the conditions that will allow the plants to take root and go through the necessary stages of growth. If favorable weather conditions persist, and the ground is not frozen, you can safely plant some types of vegetables.

The best choice for November is garlic. This is one of the crops that is ideal for autumn planting. Garlic takes root well in cold soil and can even survive the winter, and give a good harvest next year. For planting, choose large teeth that are buried in the ground by 4-5 cm, with a distance between them of about 10-15 cm. It is important that the place is well lit and protected from winds.

Also, November is a great time to plant onions. If it is warm, you can plant chives or seeds until the middle of the month. This allows you to get an early harvest in the next year. Prepared soil should be fertilized in advance using compost or humus to provide the plants with the nutrients they need to grow.

An equally important crop for autumn planting is spinach. This plant is very resistant to cold and is able to germinate even at temperatures up to 5 degrees Celsius. Spinach can be planted in November, and it will have time to take root before the first frost. It will be an excellent source of vitamins and minerals in the winter period, so it should be grown even on small plots.

Another crop that can be planted in November is radish. This plant can be planted in beds that are well warmed by the sun. It is able to germinate even in cool weather, so it can be sown without fear. It is important to choose radish varieties that are intended for autumn planting, as they can withstand lower temperatures.

Also, don't forget about plants that can be planted on greens, such as arugula, dill and parsley. They can grow even at cold temperatures and feel good in autumn soil. These herbs can be grown on balconies or in greenhouses where it is possible to control the temperature.

Thus, while November is considered the end of the main season for gardeners, it is also a time to plan and plant crops that will bear fruit early next year. A careful approach to the selection of plants and the right place for planting will allow you to get a rich harvest even in the cold season.
