The Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine announced the launch of the FADN/FSDN (Farm Sustainability Data Network) pilot project. This initiative is part of the country's European integration strategy and aims to harmonize the agricultural policy and the development of rural areas with the requirements of the European Union.
The project starts in the Poltava region, and its main goal is to study the practical aspects of the implementation of the data collection system. Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food Oksana Osmachko emphasized that it is important to understand the possible issues and challenges that farmers may face during the implementation of this project.
The launch of the FADN/FSDN network is also included in the government's plan aimed at implementing the program of financial support for Ukraine from the European Union, known as the "Ukraine Facility". This emphasizes the importance of the initiative for the development of the agricultural sector in Ukraine in terms of cooperation with European partners.
The main goal of the network is to adapt the collection of accounting data of agricultural producers, which will contribute to the sustainable development of the agricultural industry. The deputy minister noted that the data collected through this network will help to better monitor the situation in the agricultural sector, which in turn will make it possible to make more informed decisions regarding the provision of state support to agricultural producers.
According to the Ministry's plans, in 2025 the experience of implementing the system will be expanded to five regions, and by 2026 the system should cover the entire territory of Ukraine. This will create new opportunities for farmers, as well as contribute to increasing the transparency and efficiency of management decisions in agriculture.
The launch of the FADN/FSDN network opens up new perspectives for the Ukrainian agricultural sector, as the collected data can significantly influence the development of the strategy to support farms and ensure their competitiveness in domestic and foreign markets.
