The difference in product costs between Ukraine and Europe

Food costs are one of the main expenses for most families. Compared to Europe, the prices of products in Ukraine are quite low. According to the State Statistics Service of Ukraine, on average, Ukrainians spend approximately 40% of their income on food. This figure is impressive, especially compared to Europe, where this figure can reach 50-60%.

There are many reasons for such a difference in prices. One of them is the income level of the population. On average, the incomes of Ukrainians are much lower than those of residents of European countries. This affects their ability to spend more money on products. In addition, there is relatively low competition in the food market in Ukraine, which can lead to higher prices.

Another reason may be the specifics of consumption. For example, Ukrainians consume more meat and dairy products on average than their European neighbors. It can also affect overall product costs.

However, it is worth noting that there are positive points in the price policy for products in Ukraine. For example, prices for some types of vegetables and fruits can be much lower than in Europe. Also, Ukrainians have the opportunity to buy products from local producers, which can be not only economically beneficial, but also contribute to the support of domestic production.
