The holiday season, which includes the New Year and Christmas, is over, leaving behind some changes in fruit prices in Ukrainian supermarkets. According to the Ministry of Finance portal, prices for oranges and tangerines in Kyiv retail outlets varied significantly in late January.

During this period, oranges experienced a price increase, from UAH 74.04/kg to UAH 84.9/kg. As an indicator of increasing popularity, the premium segment increased in price from 70.57 UAH/kg to 71.45 UAH/kg. Even Turkish oranges fell slightly in price, from 59.64 UAH/kg to 41.50 UAH/kg.

The situation was different for tangerines, whose prices decreased from 56.34 UAH/kg to 53.26 UAH/kg. Clementines, as a separate species, lost even more - from 95.62 UAH/kg at the beginning of the year to the current 71.9 UAH/kg.

The impact of the holiday season on prices has become a typical phenomenon, where consumers observe changes in the cost of their favorite fruits in their favorite stores. These fluctuations may be due to increased demand and limited supply on the market.
