Ukrainian consumers can rejoice, as prices for greenhouse cucumbers in the country are vulnerable to a decline. According to the latest data, prices for this tasty vegetable have decreased by 10% on average, falling in the range of 70 to 100 UAH per kilogram. EastFruit analysts revealed several factors that led to this decline.

According to the experts, low consumer interest is one of the reasons for the price decrease. Demand for cucumbers has dropped significantly, which has negatively affected their price. Many sellers are finding it difficult to sell off their stock, which leads to a deterioration in the quality of products in warehouses and contributes to a further decline in prices.

Experts note that this is what forced sellers to reduce retail prices for greenhouse cucumbers to boost sales and avoid the accumulation of unsold goods in warehouses.

According to EastFruit's monitoring data, prices for greenhouse cucumbers currently range from UAH 70-100 per kilogram, which is 10% cheaper than at the end of last week.

"The quality of Turkish cucumbers, which currently dominate the Ukrainian market, has deteriorated significantly, which has negatively affected prices in this segment," analysts say.

Despite the marked decline, greenhouse cucumbers in Ukraine remain 29% more expensive than in the same period last year.

"Market operators point out that the supply of these products in local factories is limited, and supplies from abroad are unstable. Therefore, there is a possibility that the situation on the greenhouse cucumber market may change next week," analysts predict.
