  • Ukraine reduced grain exports in the new marketing year
    Опубликовано: 2026-05-27 13:10:03

In the 2025/26 marketing year, Ukraine reduced the volume of grain and leguminous crops exports. The total figure for deliveries to foreign markets was 32.8 million tons, which is 5.4 million tons or 14% less compared to the same period of the previous season.

This was reported by AgroPortal with reference to information from the State Customs Service. The data indicate a decrease in exports for most key agricultural crops, which traditionally form a significant part of Ukrainian agricultural exports.

Wheat traditionally accounted for the largest share of deliveries. In the current season, Ukraine exported 12.3 million tons of this crop. Compared to the previous marketing year, the volumes decreased by 2.5 million tons, or 17%.

A significant drop was also recorded in the barley segment. About 1.5 million tons of the crop were sent abroad, which is 36% less than in the previous season.

A particularly sharp decline is observed in rye exports. Ukraine supplied only about 0.2 thousand tons of this crop to foreign markets. For comparison, in the previous season, the volume of rye exports amounted to 10.8 thousand tons. Thus, the figure decreased by 54 times.

Corn remains one of the main export goods of the Ukrainian agricultural sector, however, a decline was recorded here as well. In the 2025/26 marketing year, corn exports amounted to 18.6 million tons, which is 9% less than in the previous period.

The reduction also affected processed products. In particular, flour exports from Ukraine amounted to 56.3 thousand tons. This is 13% lower than last year's figure.

The decrease in grain and flour exports may be due to a number of factors, including the situation on world markets, logistical difficulties, as well as general challenges for the Ukrainian agricultural sector in wartime conditions. At the same time, Ukraine continues to remain one of the important suppliers of grain products to the international market.
