In Ukraine, carrot prices have increased significantly over the past week. Producers are selling last year's harvest at a price of 13 to 20 hryvnias per kilogram, which is an average of 34% more than at the end of the previous working week.

This was reported by analysts of the EastFruit platform. Experts note that the next stage of the increase in the price of vegetables of the 2025 harvest is primarily associated with a noticeable revival of demand in the market.

In particular, wholesale companies and large retail chains have begun to purchase carrots more actively. Growing interest from buyers has led to a rapid reduction in available volumes of products and increased pressure on prices.

An additional factor in the increase in prices was the decrease in stocks of quality carrots in local farms. According to market participants, stocks of products of good quality have already been practically exhausted, which supports a further increase in the cost of vegetables.

At the same time, analysts note that even after the current price jump, carrots in Ukraine are still much cheaper than last year. Currently, the average cost of production is approximately 56% lower than in the same period last year.

The market expects that the trend towards price increases will continue in the near future. Most major participants in the vegetable sector predict further price growth, although its pace will probably be less rapid than in recent weeks.

Experts note that the situation on the vegetable market will largely depend on the remaining products in farms, the activity of purchases by retail chains and the overall balance of supply and demand in the country.
