Ukraine has introduced updated approaches to the normative monetary assessment of agricultural land. The changes are aimed at increasing the accuracy of calculations and supporting the agricultural sector, in particular in frontline and affected regions.

This was announced by Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko. According to her, the government has approved changes to the current methodology, which will allow for a more objective assessment of the value of land, taking into account natural and man-made factors.

The updated approach involves taking into account climate change, as well as the consequences of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station explosion. These changes most affect the southern regions of Ukraine, in particular Zaporizhia, Kherson, Mykolaiv and Odesa regions.

According to the new rules, the actual level of moisture supply will be taken into account when assessing land plots. It will be determined on the basis of hydrometeorological data, as well as taking into account the loss or limitation of irrigation systems, which is especially relevant for the southern regions.

The government expects that this approach will allow for a more accurate and fair value of land. This has a direct impact on the level of tax burden and economic conditions for agricultural enterprises, Svyrydenko emphasized.

Separately, it is envisaged to simplify access to information about land plots. Owners and users will be able to receive extracts taking into account a specific date, which will allow for more accurate tracking of changes in the assessment over time.

In addition, the updated documents will contain more detailed information about the characteristics of land plots and the components of the calculation. This will ensure transparency in the formation of the normative assessment and better understanding for landowners and farmers.
