Ukraine's agricultural sector demonstrated a noticeable nominal growth in financial results in 2025. The total profit of more than 35 thousand agricultural companies increased significantly, but analysts emphasize the gap between monetary indicators and real production dynamics.

This was reported by the Center for Food and Land Use Research KSE Agrocenter. According to the study, the total financial result of the industry reached UAH 223 billion before tax, which is 21% higher than the previous year.

Despite the increase in profitability, experts note a structural imbalance between nominal income and real value added. This means that financial indicators do not fully reflect the actual productivity of agricultural production.

Large agricultural holdings demonstrate the highest efficiency in the sector. In particular, the ten largest companies from the MHP, Kernel and Goodvalley groups increased profits by 40% and provided about UAH 16 billion before tax. This result is explained by the effect of scale and better adaptation to logistical and operational challenges.

Among the key indicators of the industry in 2025, an increase in tax revenues was also recorded. The total financial result was UAH 223 billion before tax, which is UAH 38.5 billion more than in 2024. Payment of direct taxes reached a historical maximum - UAH 13.3 billion, which is 34.6% more in annual terms.

The tax burden of the agricultural sector remains relatively stable and amounts to about 6% of the total revenue of the industry. This indicates a moderate level of fiscal pressure with a simultaneous increase in absolute tax revenues.

At the same time, the real economic picture is less optimistic. Although gross value added in actual prices increased by 21%, it decreased by 6.2% compared to constant prices in 2021. This means that the main factor in the growth of profits in 2025 was the increase in product prices, not the increase in physical production volumes.
