The Ukrainian government has expanded the agricultural sector support program, providing for a significant increase in compensation for producers operating in high-risk areas. These include farms in frontline and de-occupied territories, which will now be able to receive up to 80% reimbursement of costs for the development of land reclamation and irrigation infrastructure.
This was reported by the All-Ukrainian Agrarian Council. According to the organization, VAR experts, together with Mercy Corps, have prepared detailed explanations regarding key changes in state support for the agricultural sector.
From now on, agricultural producers and water user organizations can apply for compensation of up to 80% of costs if their activities are registered and carried out in areas of possible hostilities, active hostilities, or de-occupied territories. This decision is aimed at supporting farms operating in the most difficult conditions.
For other regions, the basic conditions of the state program remain unchanged. The maximum level of compensation for them will continue to be up to UAH 26,500 per hectare, which ensures the preservation of existing support mechanisms without their reduction or revision.
An important change was also the expansion of funding areas. Now the program covers not only the purchase of pumping stations, but also the repair of land reclamation systems, the reconstruction of existing infrastructure and the construction of new water management facilities.
Applications are submitted through the State Agrarian Register after the opening of the relevant registration. The deadline for submitting documents is set for October 31 of this year, which determines the time frame for participation in the program.
In general, the state support program is aimed at the restoration and effective use of reclaimed lands, which are of critical importance for productivity and ensuring food security in Ukraine in conditions of military risks.
