Ukraine has taken a new step in the development of international agricultural cooperation by opening its first agrohub on the African continent. It is located in the Republic of Ghana, where it will function as a center for processing and distributing food products.

Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko announced the launch of the project. According to her, the creation of the agrohub was the result of cooperation between Ukrainian agribusiness and the government of Ghana and the implementation of agreements reached during the Food from Ukraine international conference, which took place in November 2025.

The new center is designed to combine Ukrainian and local products to form food kits. In the future, it is planned to expand the functionality of the agrohub — in particular, the development of processing, packaging and portioning processes directly on the territory of Ghana.

The first batches of food kits have already used locally produced rice, as well as pasta made in Ghana from Ukrainian flour. This approach allows combining the resources of the two countries and creating added value at the local level.

According to Forbes Ukraine, the initiator of the creation of the agrohub was the consortium of small and medium-sized agricultural producers "Ridne". It includes 11 food industry enterprises and about 80 farmers, providing a production base for the project.

The new facility in Ghana includes warehouses, administrative infrastructure and production facilities. It will become a key platform for the storage, processing and further distribution of food both on the local market and in the wider region.

The launch of the agrohub is an important element of Ukraine's strategy to expand agricultural exports and strengthen its position in the markets of African countries. The project will also contribute to the development of partnerships between Ukrainian and African producers, opening up new opportunities for both sides.
