The Ukrainian butter market, after a recent increase in price, is showing a reverse trend. The recent decline in prices indicates the absence of a long-term growth trend and indicates instability in the industry.

The current situation is reported by analysts of the Infagro platform, who note a change in price trends on both domestic and foreign markets. According to their observations, the influencing factors are complex and are related to both production and the international situation.

An important role in price formation is played by the European market, which remains a key direction for Ukrainian exports. In recent weeks, a noticeable decrease in quotations has been recorded there, which have returned to significantly lower levels compared to previous periods.

Experts explain this situation by an excess supply that arose against the background of active production. An additional impact is exerted by the adjacent segment - the skimmed milk powder market, where relatively high prices remain. This stimulates producers to increase volumes, which, in turn, leads to the accumulation of butter stocks in warehouses.

The growth of warehouse residues is becoming one of the key factors of pressure on prices. In conditions where supply exceeds demand, the market is forced to respond by adjusting the cost of products, both in export directions and within the country.

According to market participants, compared to last year, butter production in Ukraine has increased, but exports do not show a corresponding increase. This creates an additional imbalance between supply and demand. At the same time, the high price of milk powder partially compensates for producers' losses from the fall in butter prices.

Analysts predict that in the near future the trend towards an increase in supply will continue. This means that price pressure may increase, and the market itself will continue to remain volatile, responding to changes in both internal and external factors.
