Ukrainian agricultural producers currently have sufficient fuel reserves for the spring sowing campaign. According to government estimates, the available reserves will be enough for at least a period of three to six weeks, which will allow farmers to work without the risk of fuel shortages.

This was announced by the Minister of Economy, Environment and Agriculture Oleksiy Sobolev during the “Government Question Hour” in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. According to him, the government maintains constant contact with fuel market participants in order to monitor the situation with the provision of resources to the agricultural sector.

The minister noted that the analysis shows a sufficient level of reserves of both diesel fuel and other types of fuel used in agriculture. Market representatives confirmed that the current reserves allow farmers to work in normal mode during the sowing campaign.

According to Sobolev, the fuel reserves of farms will last for about 3-6 weeks. This period, according to the government's estimates, is enough to carry out the main field work within the current sowing season.

In addition to providing resources, the government has also introduced an additional support mechanism - cashback on fuel. As the minister explained, the financing of this program will be carried out through internal redistribution of funds within the budget of the ministry.

The total amount of financing for this initiative is estimated at approximately 3 billion hryvnias. These funds will be directed from other programs implemented by the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine, without attracting additional funding from the state budget.

The government expects that the combination of sufficient fuel reserves and financial support will allow farmers to stably conduct the spring sowing campaign and avoid disruptions in the operation of agricultural machinery. This, in turn, should contribute to maintaining the stability of agricultural production, which plays an important role in the economy of Ukraine.
