  • Ukraine set an export record during the Great War: 22 new markets in a year
    Опубликовано: 2026-03-06 13:08:59

According to the results of 2025, Ukraine ensured the opening of 22 new foreign markets for domestic products of plant and animal origin. This indicator became the highest for the entire period of the full-scale war and indicates the intensification of work in the field of trade diplomacy and veterinary and phytosanitary control.

This was announced by the head of the State Service for the Protection of Food and Agriculture of Ukraine Serhiy Tkachuk during a public report on Thursday. According to him, systematic work is currently underway to open about 300 new directions for Ukrainian exports.

According to the published data, in 2025, China allowed the import of Ukrainian peas, as well as marine and aquatic products of wild catch. India and Canada opened their markets for Ukrainian apples. In addition, Canada provided access for the supply of table eggs.

The expansion of the geography of exports also covered a number of other countries. Albania opened the market for table eggs, Argentina for sunflower seeds, and Kuwait for processed food products. Malaysia allowed the import of Ukrainian milk, dairy and egg products. Vietnam and Moldova provided access for dairy products not intended for human consumption.

New opportunities also appeared in the segment of feed and animal by-products. Chile opened its market for meat-and-bone and feather meal, and Turkey for canned animal feed.

Serhiy Tkachuk emphasized that since 2022, Ukraine has managed to open a total of 75 new markets, despite difficult logistical conditions and political challenges associated with the war. Such dynamics indicate that Ukrainian agricultural and food products remain competitive.

Currently, the State Service for the Supervision of Food and Consumer Protection of Ukraine continues to work on entering the markets of Asia, the European Union, America and the Middle East. In particular, the process of opening the Canadian market for Ukrainian wheat, corn, soybeans, and rapeseed is ongoing. A separate direction is the expansion of the presence of Ukrainian plant products on the Chinese market.
