Ukraine has recorded a moderate decrease in the cost of a number of dairy products over the past month. At the same time, the overall price level remains high, despite the decrease in the price of raw milk and weak domestic demand.

The Milk Producers Association reported on the relevant trends. The organization's analytical review notes that the market is demonstrating mixed dynamics depending on the product category.

Thus, pasteurized milk with a fat content of up to 2.6% in plastic bottles currently costs an average of UAH 65.93 per kilogram. This is 48 kopecks (-0.48%) less than a month ago, but UAH 5.01 (+8%) more expensive compared to the same period last year.

Kefir with a fat content of 2.5% in plastic containers is sold on average at UAH 78.20 per kg. Its price decreased by 77 kopecks (-1%) per month, but increased by 3.90 UAH (+5%) in annual terms. A similar trend is demonstrated by sour cream with a fat content of 15% in glasses: its average price is 189.87 UAH per kg, which is 1.03 UAH (-0.5%) less than the previous month, but 8.96 UAH (+5%) more than last year.

At the same time, drinking yogurt with a fat content of 1.6% to 2.8% in plastic bottles has increased in price in monthly terms. Its average cost is 120.14 UAH per kg — this is 1.31 UAH (+1.10%) more than a month earlier, and 7 UAH (+6%) more than last year.

Sour milk cheese with a fat content of 9% has decreased in price by 4.79 UAH (-2%) per month and now costs an average of 288.26 UAH per kg. However, compared to last year, it remains more expensive by UAH 16.58 (+6%). Butter with a fat content of 72.5–73% of Ukrainian production also decreased in price - to UAH 573.87 per kg, which is UAH 19.70 (-3.3%) less than a month earlier, but UAH 7.59 (+1%) more in annual terms.

The exception to the general trend was the hard cheese "Ukrainian" with a fat content of 50%. Its average price reached UAH 605.65 per kg. Over the past month, the product has become more expensive by UAH 11.11 (+1.9%), and compared to last year, it has increased in price by UAH 42.73 (+8%). Thus, despite individual cases of price reduction, dairy products in Ukraine generally remain at a high price level.
