The 2025 sugar refining season in Ukraine officially ended on February 1, 2026. According to the National Association of Sugar Producers of Ukraine, 26 refineries belonging to the Ukrtsukor association and one independent enterprise produced 1.72 million tons of sugar, demonstrating a high level of industry efficiency.
This year's figures were especially impressive against the background of a reduction in the area under sugar beet by 50 thousand hectares, which is 23% less compared to 2024. Despite this, production volumes decreased by only 80 thousand tons, or 4%.
The head of the Ukrtsukor association, Yana Kavushevska, explained this success by high yields and improved technological characteristics of the raw material: "This year, the average yield of sugar beet reached a historical record - 58 t/ha, and the sugar content indicator was 17.6%. Improving technological processes at the plants made it possible to minimize the negative effect of reducing the sown area."
In addition to the record yield, the efficiency of beet processing into sugar has significantly increased. The sugar yield in 2025 was 15.17%, which is almost 1% higher than the result of the previous season. This indicates gradual technological progress and optimization of production processes in the industry.
The ranking of production leaders remained stable: "Radekhivskyi Sugar" held the first place with a share of 32%, "Astarta" produced 21% of sugar, "Ukrprominvest-Agro" - 15%, "Teofipolskyi Sugar Plant" - 6%, and "ASPIK Group" closed the top five with an indicator of 5%.
The association emphasizes that Ukrainian sugar demonstrates stability and competitiveness even in difficult conditions: "Even with a reduction in areas and external challenges, the industry maintains high production standards, technological capabilities and readiness to set new records."
