In December 2025, Ukraine exported 619 thousand tons of wheat, with most of the supplies falling to the countries of North Africa and the Middle East, SPIKE BROKERS reports. This volume indicates stable demand for Ukrainian grain in key markets even during a period of difficult logistics.

The largest importer was the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria, which purchased 280.4 thousand tons, or almost half of all December exports. Algeria has long remained one of the most reliable buyers of Ukrainian wheat, providing a stable sales channel for our farmers.

The second largest region remained the Middle East. Here, the largest recipients of Ukrainian grain were Yemen, which imported 118.1 thousand tons, and Syria with an indicator of 69 thousand tons. These countries traditionally support a high level of purchases of Ukrainian wheat to ensure food security.

Demand from Asian countries remained limited. The main share of exports to the region was provided by Malaysia, which purchased only 8.8 thousand tons of wheat. Deliveries to Europe were minimal and did not affect the overall export structure.

Experts note that such a concentration of exports on several key markets indicates the stable confidence of foreign buyers in the quality of Ukrainian grain, as well as the efficiency of logistics chains, despite military challenges and restrictions in transport infrastructure.

Overall, the December result confirms that Ukraine maintains a strong position in the global wheat market, and strategic partners such as Algeria and the Middle East countries continue to be reliable buyers even in difficult geopolitical conditions.
