As of December 31, 2025, Ukraine exported over 15.28 million tons of grain and leguminous crops since the beginning of the 2025/2026 marketing year (MY). This was reported by agronews.ua, noting that exports remain a key factor in the stability of the agricultural sector.

Wheat exports

Since the beginning of the current MY, Ukraine has sent 7.84 million tons of wheat to foreign markets, which is less than in the previous year, when 9.69 million tons were exported. The decrease in volumes is explained by both weather conditions and logistics restrictions due to military risks and infrastructure challenges.

Barley and corn exports

Barley exports for the reporting period amounted to 1.28 million tons, while last year the volume was 1.96 million tons. Ukraine exported 5.89 million tons of corn compared to 9.51 million tons in the previous MY. Despite the decrease in volumes, Ukraine remains one of the leading suppliers of grain on the world market.

Rye and flour exports

0.2 thousand tons of rye were also exported, which is significantly less compared to last year's 10.8 thousand tons. Flour deliveries amounted to 34.3 thousand tons, which is slightly less than last year's figure of 37.2 thousand tons. These data indicate the stability of the processing segment of the agricultural industry, despite the difficult conditions.

Reasons for the decrease in export volumes

The decrease in export volumes of individual crops is explained by several factors: restrictions on logistics due to military operations, a decrease in the yield of individual crops, as well as global fluctuations in demand for grain. At the same time, Ukrainian farmers continue to maintain their positions in key markets in Europe, Africa, and Asia.

Export Outlook for 2026

Experts predict that grain exports will remain an important source of foreign exchange earnings and stabilization of the agricultural sector in 2026. In particular, growth in corn and wheat volumes may resume under favorable weather conditions and improved logistics, as well as thanks to active government support for agricultural exports.
