  • Ukrainian pork purchase prices to rise to UAH 86/kg – forecast for the second half of November
    Опубликовано: 2025-11-14 13:01:55

For the week from November 17 to 23, 2025, an increase in live weight pig purchase prices is expected in Ukraine. According to the forecast of experts from the Meat Industry Association, the price of pork will rise to UAH 85–86 per kilogram. This is reported by Delo.ua.

Analysts note that the trend towards price growth is associated with a number of factors, including seasonal fluctuations in demand, changes in the structure of domestic consumption and the influence of exchange rates. The volume of meat imports, which affect the balance of supply and demand on the Ukrainian market, was also taken into account.

Back in early autumn, the market demonstrated relative stability. For a month and a half, the purchase prices for pigs were kept in the range of 97–100 UAH/kg, and as of October 2, the average figure was 97.6 UAH/kg. The forecast at that time predicted a possible slight decrease in prices by 2–3 UAH/kg due to a temporary increase in supply, but the decrease turned out to be short-lived.

Experts emphasize that the current increase in value is primarily due to the gradual revival of meat consumption on the eve of the winter season. In addition, domestic prices respond to the dynamics on external markets, where the situation also remains unstable.

Mixed price dynamics are observed on European exchanges. In particular, on the German VEZG exchange, prices for half-carcasses of conditioned pigs are 1.70 euros/kg (83.22 UAH/kg), and for sows - 0.85 euros/kg (41.61 UAH/kg), excluding VAT. On the Polish CennikRolnicze market, the average price of live pigs reaches PLN 5.08/kg (UAH 58.32/kg), with a range from PLN 4.40 to PLN 6.00/kg (UAH 50.51–UAH 68.88/kg).

Global trends also indicate a market correction. The price of pigs by slaughter weight is currently EUR 1.74/kg (-2%) in the EU countries, EUR 1.73/kg (+1%) in Brazil, EUR 1.62/kg (-4%) in the USA and EUR 1.37/kg (-1%) in Canada. This difference in indicators indicates that the American market is experiencing a greater decline, while the Latin American market is demonstrating relative stability.

Thus, the Ukrainian pork market is currently influenced by both internal and external factors. The projected increase in purchase prices to 85–86 UAH/kg may indicate a gradual restoration of production profitability after a period of autumn stability, as well as the industry's preparation for peak winter demand.
