  • Ukraine exported 92 million tons of grain through the sea corridor: ports operate despite attacks

Ukraine continues to actively use the sea corridor to export agricultural products, despite constant threats and hostile shelling of port infrastructure. According to the Ministry of Development of Communities and Territories, almost 155 million tons of cargo have already been transported through the sea corridor, of which 92 million tons are grain crops.

These results were announced during a working meeting between Deputy Prime Minister for Reconstruction Oleksiy Kuleba and the leadership of the Odessa City Military Administration, ProAgro Group reports. The main topic of discussion was the situation with the functioning of ports, the safety of maritime transportation and the development of logistics routes in the region.

According to government representatives, the port infrastructure continues to operate stably, despite regular attacks from Russia. Ukrainian specialists are promptly restoring damaged facilities, which allows maintaining high export rates. This fact is key for the economy, as sea routes remain the main channel for supplying agricultural products to foreign markets.

Odessa ports play a leading role in ensuring the export of grain, in particular wheat, corn and barley. They operate in an enhanced security mode, using modernized navigation and vessel traffic coordination systems. The authorities emphasize that international partners, in particular the EU and Turkey, provide technical support to guarantee the safe passage of merchant ships.

Thanks to the functioning of the sea corridor, Ukraine has managed to ensure stable grain exports to countries in Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia, which helps maintain its reputation as a reliable food supplier. This is especially important in conditions of global food instability.

The Ministry of Community Development emphasized that the government will continue to work on strengthening the logistical stability of the southern regions, expanding the throughput capacity of ports and improving the maritime security system. According to Oleksiy Kuleba, Ukraine not only maintains the export front, but also forms a new model of sustainable maritime transport, capable of operating effectively even in wartime.
