Ukraine continues to strengthen its position in the flax market, increasing exports of this crop for the fourth consecutive month. According to the analytical agency APK-Inform, in October 2025, the volume of Ukrainian flax exports abroad reached 7.65 thousand tons, which is 1.58 thousand tons more than in September.

The growth in exports is explained by active demand from the European Union countries, which remain the main consumers of Ukrainian products. The largest buyers in October were France (43.1% of the total volume of supplies), Poland (16.8%) and Italy (11.4%). This export structure indicates the steady interest of European processors in Ukrainian flax, which is distinguished by its quality and stability of supplies.

The active growth in export volumes began in the summer, with the beginning of the new harvest. In July, Ukraine sent 1.37 thousand tons of flax abroad, in August - 3.3 thousand tons, and with the onset of autumn, the pace of supply only intensified. This became possible due to the expansion of the area under the crop and favorable conditions for its cultivation in the northern and central regions of the country.

However, the increase in supply inevitably affected the price dynamics. Over the past month, the maximum demand prices for flax in the ports of Ukraine have decreased by 800 UAH per ton, and as of November 6, they do not exceed 28,500 UAH/t on CPT-port terms. According to traders, the decrease in cost is associated not only with an increase in production volumes, but also with a decrease in transportation costs and stabilization of the exchange rate.

Despite a slight decrease in price, Ukrainian flax remains competitive on the world market. Experts expect that in the coming months, demand from the EU will maintain positive dynamics, especially in the context of growing demand for environmentally friendly materials for the textile industry.

Thus, 2025 may become a record year for Ukrainian flax exports over the past few seasons. The expansion of the geography of supplies and stable yields allow Ukraine to gradually strengthen its position among the leading exporters of this crop in Europe.
