The Grain from Ukraine Initiative has delivered over 300,000 tons of Ukrainian food to 18 countries around the world, contributing to global food security. The program helps ensure stable food supplies to the most vulnerable regions and supports global markets in difficult times.

In 2025, the initiative will be transformed into Food from Ukraine, which involves expanding the geography of supplies, optimizing logistics, and strengthening assistance to countries that need food support the most. The program provides comprehensive solutions from grain supply to coordination of transport routes.

During a meeting of the EU Council on Foreign Affairs, Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine Taras Kachka emphasized the importance of EU strategies for strengthening the stability and security of the Black Sea region. According to him, such initiatives create a foundation for improving maritime security, protecting critical infrastructure and restoring safe navigation.

“With its unique operational experience and modern military-technical capabilities, Ukraine is ready to be a reliable guarantor of security in the Black Sea region,” Kachka noted, emphasizing the country’s ability to ensure stability in a key strategic sector.

The meeting’s agenda also discussed issues of resilience and security, the development of the Black Sea Maritime Security Hub, as well as expanding cooperation in the field of surveillance, countering hybrid threats and protecting critical infrastructure. These steps are aimed at strengthening regional security and improving coordination between EU member states and partners.

Kachka added that Ukraine continues to maintain sanctions pressure on Russia, while at the same time confirming its readiness to assume the role of a reliable guarantor of security in the Black Sea region. According to him, joint actions with the EU and international partners help strengthen global food security and stability in the region.

The Food from Ukraine program is becoming an important tool not only for grain exports, but also for demonstrating Ukraine's ability to provide critically needed resources in times of war and global instability.
