  • Ukrainian agribusiness moves towards digitalization
    Опубликовано: 2025-08-29 13:08:26

The Ministry of Economy, Environment and Agriculture of Ukraine has announced its intention to deepen the digitalization of the agribusiness sector, which is an important element of the European integration processes. The agency plans to expand a number of electronic services, including “e-Planting”, “e-Beekeeping”, the viticulture and winemaking register and other digital tools that will simplify the work of agricultural producers and ensure transparency in the functioning of the industry.

According to Deputy Minister Denys Bashlyk, the current priority is to strengthen the resilience of the Ukrainian agribusiness sector. Despite the war and difficult working conditions, farmers continue to ensure both internal food stability and Ukraine’s contribution to global food security. Continued support for the agribusiness sector, the official stressed, is a guarantee of the country’s economic stability.

On August 28, representatives of the Ministry of Economy met with the Acting Head of the Office of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) Mohammed Azuka. The main topic of the talks was further strengthening the partnership in the field of supporting Ukrainian farmers and agricultural producers.

The parties considered several key areas of cooperation. Among them are the digitalization of the agricultural sector and the development of the State Agricultural Register as an effective tool for strengthening support for farmers. Separately, they discussed the modernization of irrigation systems and the implementation of measures to reduce the impact of agricultural production on the environment.

Significant attention was also paid to the issue of demining agricultural lands, which directly affects safety and the restoration of production. As part of the cooperation, it is planned to conduct soil analysis, which will determine the level of their suitability for the restoration of agricultural production after war damage.

Other priorities include providing farmers with modern means of storing crops, expanding export opportunities for Ukrainian products, and engaging international and national experts to support European integration processes. In addition, the importance of Ukraine's participation in strengthening global food security was emphasized.
