  • Danish equipment helps demining Kharkiv region: over 560 hectares have already been cleared
    Опубликовано: 2025-07-09 18:05:57

Active demining of territories liberated from Russian occupation continues in Kharkiv region. A significant contribution to this work is made by the Hydrema MCV 910 mechanized demining machine, manufactured in Denmark, which has already cleared over 560 hectares of land from mines and explosives.

This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, noting that the equipment entered the use of Ukrainian sappers in 2024. Since then, it has become an integral part of demining units operating in the most dangerous regions of the country. Hydrema machines accelerate the clearance of agricultural fields and allow for the effective removal of remnants of war, which pose a serious threat to the lives of the population.

Currently, according to official data, over 25,000 hectares have already been demined in the Kharkiv region, but there is still a lot of work to be done - about 1 million hectares of territories remain potentially dangerous and require inspection and clearance.

119 demining groups of the Security and Defense Forces of Ukraine, as well as 132 groups of mine action operators working under the coordination of state structures, are involved in the work in the Kharkiv region. In total, since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, specialists have neutralized over 270,000 units of explosive objects in the region.

The use of foreign engineering equipment, in particular Hydrema machines, allows not only to increase the effectiveness of humanitarian demining, but also to reduce the risks for the personnel of sapper groups. Danish machines demonstrate high productivity in the difficult conditions of the Ukrainian terrain and climate.

The work to clear the Kharkiv region of mines is crucial for returning to peaceful life, restoring agriculture and infrastructure, and ensuring the safety of the civilian population. The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine calls on international partners to continue supporting humanitarian demining efforts, as the scale of the problem still remains enormous.
