In June 2025, Ukraine significantly reduced the volume of exports of agricultural products. During the month, 3.4 million tons of agricultural goods were shipped, which is 23.8% less than in May. This was reported by the Ukrainian Agrarian Business Club (UKAB).
The largest drop was recorded in the grain crops segment — by 26% compared to the previous month. In June, the export volume amounted to 2.2 million tons. The main export items remain corn (62% of the total volume of grain exports) and wheat (37%).
Exports of vegetable oils fell no less noticeably, decreasing by 32% to 356.5 thousand tons. Almost the entire volume falls on sunflower oil — its share in the export structure is 89%. This decrease may be due to seasonal fluctuations or changes in demand on foreign markets.
Exports of oilcake, a by-product of oil refining, also decreased by 14%, to 387.8 thousand tons. Similar dynamics indicate a general decrease in the volume of sunflower seed processing in the country in June.
Other categories of agricultural products, including food products and raw materials for industry, showed a decrease of 26%, to 284.6 thousand tons. This confirms that the general trend of decreasing exports covered most segments of the agricultural sector.
The only exception was oilseeds, the export volumes of which, on the contrary, increased by 8%, to 316.3 thousand tons. The main contribution to the growth was provided by soybean products, which enjoyed stable demand from foreign buyers. UCAB explains this dynamics by active trade in soybeans within the framework of existing foreign economic contracts.
Experts point out that the decrease in export volumes in June is a worrying signal, given the important role of agricultural exports in filling the state budget and ensuring foreign exchange earnings. Further dynamics will depend on the situation on the markets, logistics conditions, and harvest results.
