Since the beginning of the 2024/25 marketing year, Ukraine has exported more than 32.3 million tons of grain and leguminous crops. In March alone, deliveries amounted to 3.2 million tons, which confirms the stability of Ukrainian agricultural exports even under martial law.
According to the Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Denys Bashlyk, the most exported crops were corn and wheat, which traditionally remain key crops for foreign markets. The total volume of wheat exports since the beginning of the season has reached almost 13 million tons, of which almost a million tons were shipped in March. Corn exports exceeded 16.7 million tons, and in March - over 2.1 million tons.
Other crops, in particular barley and rye, also continue to be supplied abroad, although their volumes are much smaller. Since the beginning of the marketing year, more than 2.2 million tons of barley have been exported, of which 62 thousand tons were in March. Rye remains the least common export crop, with supplies totaling only 10.8 thousand tons.
In addition to grains, Ukraine actively exports flour. During the entire current season, 53.1 thousand tons of this product were shipped, of which 49.2 thousand tons were wheat flour. In March, total flour exports amounted to 4.5 thousand tons, of which 4.4 thousand tons were wheat flour.
Despite the difficult logistical situation caused by the war and the blocking of certain supply routes, Ukrainian farmers continue to work actively to supply world markets with grain. The country remains an important player in global food security, and its ability to maintain stable exports helps maintain Ukraine's position among the leading grain exporters.
It is expected that in the coming months, export dynamics will remain stable, and the development of new logistics routes and alternative transport corridors will allow expanding the geography of supplies and ensuring further growth of Ukraine's agricultural sector.
