In Ukraine, there is a significant increase in the prices of cucumbers, which has become a tangible blow for consumers. Since the beginning of the week, greenhouse plants have increased the selling prices for this vegetable by 14%, which caused a general increase in the price on the Ukrainian market. Analysts of the EastFruit project report that the main reason for the price increase is the reduction in the supply of both greenhouse and field cucumbers.

In particular, greenhouse cucumbers on the market of Ukraine are now sold at a price of 40 to 60 hryvnias per kilogram. Such an increase is connected not only with a decrease in supply, but also with a high demand for these products, which remains stable despite the increase in prices.

Experts note that the limited supply of ground cucumbers also contributes to the increase in the price of greenhouse products. Currently, most of the cucumbers grown in the open ground are of low quality, forcing buyers to prefer more expensive but better quality cucumbers from greenhouses.

Today, the price of greenhouse cucumber in Ukraine exceeds the indicators of the same period last year by 2.8 times. Such a sharp increase is causing concern among wholesale buyers and retail chains, who expect further price increases in the coming weeks.

Market players believe that the increase in cucumber prices will continue, especially against the background of limited supply of products both from greenhouses and from open ground. In addition, hopes for imported products are also not justified, because neighboring countries also face problems in this segment.

Given this situation, consumers should expect a further increase in cucumber prices, which may negatively affect their availability on the Ukrainian market. At the same time, the situation with the supply of cucumbers remains uncertain, and it is still difficult to predict how the market will develop in the future.
