Ukrainian grain transiting through Moldova will be temporarily exempted from phytosanitary control carried out by the National Food Safety Agency (ANSA). This decision was adopted by the Parliament of Moldova at a meeting on July 11, NewsMaker reports.

According to the published document, the temporary exemption from the application of the legislation "On Plant Protection and Phytosanitary Quarantine" applies to Ukrainian grain transiting through the territory of Moldova to the Romanian ports of Reni and Galati, as well as by rail. These restrictions will be in effect until September 14 this year.

According to the press release of the Moldovan parliament, Ukrainian grain is transported in specialized vehicles, which significantly reduces the risk of introducing quarantine organisms. In the event of unforeseen circumstances with transportation or cargo during transit through Moldova, carriers must immediately notify ANSA within two hours.

The author of the legislative initiative was Oleksandr Trubka, head of the parliamentary commission on agriculture and food industry. He emphasized that the adoption of this draft law will contribute to the solution of goods transit problems and the reduction of queues at the Moldovan border caused by the increased flow of goods from Ukraine.

This decision is recognized as a step in the direction of simplifying transport logistics and supporting economic cooperation between Ukraine and Moldova, contributing to the improvement of conditions for trade and development of both countries.
