Since the beginning of 2025, Ukraine has significantly increased its exports of cattle and beef, with the largest volumes of live cattle being shipped to Lebanon, and the main buyers of chilled and frozen beef were China and Azerbaijan. This was reported by the Milk Producers Association.

In August 2025, Ukraine exported about 1.01 thousand tons of live cattle, which is 49% less than in July, but 35% more than in August 2024. Export revenue amounted to $ 2.78 million, which is 34% less than in July, but 6% more than in the same period last year.

According to the results of January-August 2025, Ukraine supplied 12.72 thousand tons of live weight cattle to foreign markets (+52%) for the amount of $28.43 million (+92%). These figures indicate a steady growth in the volume of supplies to international markets.

Regarding beef, in August 2025, Ukrainian exporters shipped 19 tons of fresh or chilled beef, which is 46% less than in July, but 20 times more than in August 2024. Revenue for the delivered goods amounted to $105 thousand, demonstrating similar dynamics. According to the results of January-August 2025, exports of chilled beef amounted to 120 tons for the amount of $692 thousand (-86% and -88%, respectively).

The physical volume of frozen beef exports in August 2025 amounted to 1.35 thousand tons, which is 20% less than in July and 14% less than in August 2024. Revenue from supplies amounted to $ 6.19 million, 18% less than in July, but 7% more than in August last year. In total, in January-August 2025, Ukraine exported 12.63 thousand tons of frozen beef (+15%) for the amount of $ 51.33 million (+15%).

Regarding the geography of sales, the largest volumes of frozen beef by value were received by China ($ 15.77 million), second place - Azerbaijan ($ 14.77 million), third - Uzbekistan ($ 9.27 million). The largest market for live cattle in January-August 2025 remained Lebanon ($24.74 million), animals were also supplied to Libya ($2.21 million), Kazakhstan ($1.17 million) and Uzbekistan ($303 thousand).

According to the results of August 2025, the foreign trade balance in the cattle and beef sector remained positive and amounted to $7.99 million, confirming the effectiveness of Ukrainian exports in this category.
