The Ukrainian Agrarian Business Club (UKAB) updated the forecast for the gross harvest of grains and oilseeds for the 2025/26 marketing year. According to analysts, the total harvest will be about 73.4 million tons, which is 5% less than in the previous year.

According to the forecast, the grain harvest is expected to be 54.6 million tons, which is 3% less than last year. At the same time, oilseeds will show a more significant reduction - about 18.8 million tons, which is 11% less than last year.

The largest decrease is expected in wheat production. Despite an increase in the area under crops by 2%, the yield fell by 17%, so the projected volume will be 21 million tons, which is 6% less than in 2024. At the same time, the corn harvest will remain almost at last year's level - 26.7 million tons, although the yield remains low.

The forecast for barley is somewhat more stable - the gross harvest will be 5.2 million tons, which is only 1% less than last year. Oilseeds show a more noticeable decline: the sunflower harvest will decrease by 7% to 10.1 million tons, and soybeans - by 19% to 5.4 million tons, which is associated with a reduction in sown areas and a drop in yield.

As for rapeseed, its gross harvest is forecast at 3.3 million tons, which is 8% less than last year, due to losses from spring frosts. In general, the reduction in the yield of most crops creates risks for both the domestic market and export volumes.

UCAB emphasizes that such trends require careful crop planning and resource management to minimize losses and ensure the stability of Ukraine's agricultural sector in the new marketing year.
