In May 2025, the state continued its systematic support for the agricultural sector, allocating significant funds to assist farmers working under martial law and economic difficulties. According to the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, the total amount of the second wave of financial assistance amounted to 361.7 million hryvnias, which were transferred through the Ukrainian State Fund for Support of Farms.

The financing covered 5,560 farms across the country, which indicates the large-scale implementation of the state program to support agricultural producers. The bulk of the allocated funds — 316.9 million hryvnias — was directed in the form of subsidies for cultivated agricultural land. This assistance was received by 4,139 farmers, who continue to work on the land, ensuring the food security of the state.

In addition, 44.8 million hryvnias were distributed as subsidies to support livestock farming, in particular for cattle. This funding line covered 1,421 farms specializing in meat and milk production.

The program is implemented within the framework of the Emergency Project for Inclusive Support for the Restoration of Ukraine’s Agricultural Sector (ARISE). The project is financed from the state budget in accordance with government regulations and is aimed at stabilizing agricultural production, restoring farms, and preserving jobs in rural areas.

Financial assistance from the state has become an important factor for farmers who face challenges every day, from logistical difficulties to threats from the aggressor. The government emphasizes that supporting farmers will remain a priority in the coming periods, especially in regions where agricultural production is a key source of income for local communities.

Targeted assistance to the agricultural sector not only allows us to maintain production volumes in conditions of instability, but also lays the foundation for further recovery of the Ukrainian economy after the end of the war.
