Canada has opened the market for Ukrainian eggs: new opportunities for domestic poultry farmers

Ukrainian producers of table eggs have been able to supply their products to the Canadian market. From now on, exports to this country have become officially permitted thanks to the approval of a veterinary certificate that meets the requirements of Canadian legislation. This was reported by the press service of the Poultry Farmers' Union of Ukraine.

A key step in opening access to the Canadian market was the approval by the State Service for Food and Consumer Protection of an international veterinary certificate that confirms the safety and compliance of Ukrainian products with Canadian standards. This document is mandatory for all suppliers who intend to enter the North American market.

At the same time, the export opportunity is available only to those Ukrainian companies that cooperate with Canadian importers who have a valid SFC (Safe Food for Canadians Licence) license — a special permit that guarantees the safety of food products in Canada. This approach ensures double quality control — both by Ukrainian authorities and by Canadian regulators.

The official website of the State Service for Food and Consumer Protection of Ukraine has already published the form of the required certificate, which can be found in the "International Cooperation" section, subheading "Certificates for export from Ukraine". It also contains detailed information on the requirements for exporting table eggs and egg products to Canada.

Among the main requirements of the Canadian side are strict adherence to transportation standards, storage conditions, product labeling rules, as well as compliance with the egg sorting system. Canadian regulators pay particular attention to the availability of effective salmonellosis control programs, which must be implemented on Ukrainian poultry farms.

The opening of the Canadian market is an important step for the Ukrainian agricultural industry, as it allows diversifying export destinations and increasing foreign exchange earnings. This also indicates trust in the Ukrainian veterinary control system and a high level of safety of domestic products.
