Ukraine has become one of the three main suppliers of soybean meal to the European Union

Ukraine has achieved significant success in the agricultural market of the European Union, taking third place among suppliers of soybean meal to the EU. According to the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, in 2023 the country actively increased its supplies of this product to the European market, second only to two large agricultural countries - Brazil and Argentina.

Soybean meal, a by-product of soybean processing, is an important component of feed mixtures for livestock. Due to its high nutritional properties, it is in demand among European farmers. Ukraine, having large areas for growing soybeans, has become one of the main suppliers of this product in Europe, in particular to countries such as the Netherlands, Spain and Poland.

In 2023, exports of soybean meal from Ukraine to the EU amounted to over 2 million tons, which is 15% more than a year earlier. This was made possible by the high soybean harvest in Ukraine, as well as by improving the quality of products that meet European standards. In addition, domestic producers have actively invested in the modernization of processing facilities, which has allowed them to increase production volumes and improve competitiveness in the foreign market.

The main factors that contributed to the growth of Ukrainian soybean meal supplies to the EU were the reduction in transportation costs due to the development of infrastructure and the country's favorable geographical location. Ukraine has a favorable strategic position, which allows it to quickly and efficiently deliver products to European markets.

Brazil and Argentina remain Ukraine's main competitors in the EU market, but Ukrainian producers are gradually increasing their market share due to stable supply volumes and high product quality. Experts predict that in the future Ukraine may take second place among soybean meal suppliers in the EU if it continues the trend of improving productivity and meets the requirements of European consumers.

In general, the growth of soybean meal exports is part of the overall development of the agricultural sector of Ukraine, which is actively engaged in diversifying its supplies and strengthening economic ties with the EU. For the country, this is an important step towards strengthening its position in international markets and increasing foreign exchange earnings, which has a positive impact on the national economy.

Thus, Ukraine continues to strengthen its position in the EU market, expanding exports not only of grain, but also of other agricultural products, such as soybean meal. Given the stable development of the agricultural sector and improving the quality of products, we can expect a further increase in exports and strengthening economic cooperation between Ukraine and the European Union.
