Over the past week, the soybean market in Ukraine has seen a moderate increase in prices

Over the past week, the soybean market in Ukraine has seen a moderate increase in prices. The main reasons for this were a similar increase in prices at ports, as well as a reduction in the supply of raw materials on the domestic market, which led to increased demand.

According to analysts, soybean prices fluctuated within 16,800–17,000 UAH/t under the terms of the CPT. In addition, some companies, in order to fulfill term contracts for the supply of soybean meal, offered an additional premium for large volumes of raw materials. This situation contributed to an even greater increase in prices on the market.

An increase in demand for soybeans was also recorded on the export market. Soybean prices at CPT ports, in particular in Odessa and on the Danube, increased to 380–390 USD per ton, which is equivalent to 17,800–18,400 UAH/t. This reflects the general trend of price growth in world soybean trade.

Global factors also had a significant impact on the dynamics of soybean prices in Ukraine. One of the key factors was the slow soybean harvest in Brazil due to rains, which limited supply volumes. In addition, drought in Argentina and the lack of sufficient rainfall in important growing regions also negatively affected soybean production.

In addition, the market was affected by general uncertainty due to the expectation of the introduction of tariffs on Chinese goods by the new US presidential administration. This added uncertainty at the global level and increased risks for world trade, which also affected soybean prices.

Thus, the Ukrainian soybean market has undergone changes under the influence not only of internal factors, such as a decrease in the supply of raw materials, but also of global economic and climatic circumstances. It is expected that in the near future the trend towards price growth may persist, depending on further changes in world markets and weather conditions in producing countries.
