Price changes for products in Ukraine: what has become more expensive in the last month

During the last month, Ukrainians witnessed significant fluctuations in food prices. Experts note that prices have started to rise again for the main categories of products that have a significant impact on the budget of an average family. Here are some of them that have increased in price the most.

One of the biggest price increases was recorded for products that make up the basis of the diet. For example, the price of sunflower oil increased by 8% compared to the previous month. This is due to supply constraints and an increase in the cost of raw materials. Oil, as one of the key products in the daily diet, has become less accessible to many Ukrainians. An increase in the price of oil can also affect the cost of other products used in cooking.

Another significant price increase concerns meat. Pork and beef prices increased by 4-5% on average. Experts attribute this to increased production and transportation costs, as well as seasonal fluctuations in demand. Many consumers pay attention to this trend, as meat remains one of the most important products in the diet of Ukrainians.

In addition to meat, the increase in prices also affected dairy products. Milk, cheese and sour cream became more expensive on average by 3-6%. According to representatives of agricultural enterprises, the reason for this growth is the increase in the cost of animal feed, as well as the increase in energy prices. Dairy products are traditionally an important part of nutrition, so its increase in price is felt in every family.

There was also an increase in the price of bakery products. Wheat bread became more expensive by 2-4%, which is caused, first of all, by the increase in the cost of wheat. According to analysts, these changes are related to the instability of the grain market and the influence of external economic factors. Bread is one of the main products in the diet, so this increase in price unpleasantly affects many consumers.

Prices for vegetables did not remain unchanged. In particular, potatoes and cabbage rose in price by 5-7%. The increase in vegetable prices is due to a low harvest, as well as problems with transportation and logistics. At the same time, some seasonal vegetables like cucumbers and tomatoes have reduced their prices by 3-4% due to increased supply.

At the same time, not all products experienced price increases. For example, prices for cereals and legumes have remained relatively stable, although minor fluctuations can be observed in some regions. However, in general, the situation on the food market remains difficult, and Ukrainians are forced to adapt to new conditions, given the rise in prices.

In general, the rise in prices for basic food products has become a new challenge for the budget of Ukrainian families. Consumers are forced to look for alternatives and revise their spending to cope with new economic realities. Experts predict that the trend toward price increases may continue in the coming months, so we should expect further changes in the food market.
