Ukraine is updating its export strategy, taking into account the challenges of the war and future recovery

The Ministry of Economy of Ukraine, together with leading international experts, started work on updating the Export Strategy of Ukraine, taking into account the current war situation and the need for post-war recovery. This initiative aims to adapt the Ukrainian economy to new realities and ensure competitiveness on international markets.

As the press service of the Ministry of Economy reports, the armed aggression of the Russian Federation has created serious challenges for Ukrainian manufacturers, which forces the state to rethink its approaches to export policy. The new strategy will take into account changes in the structure of the Ukrainian economy, the need to redistribute sales markets, as well as reorientation to new regions and countries. Special attention will be paid to the adaptation of Ukrainian goods to the standards and requirements of EU consumers.

The Ministry also emphasizes the importance of the "Made in Ukraine" government business support program, which is designed to stimulate the development of the country's export potential. The implementation of this program will be a key tool for increasing the competitiveness of Ukrainian goods on the world market.

The discussion of updating the strategy has already taken place with the participation of Deputy Minister of Economy of Ukraine, Trade Representative Taras Kachka, as well as representatives of international organizations, in particular, the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ), UNDP in Ukraine and other experts. During the meeting, the participants discussed methodological approaches to updating the strategy and outlined further steps.

Taras Kachka emphasized that the updated strategy should focus on identifying the most promising sectors for the development of export-oriented industries, as well as on supporting structural changes in the economy. He emphasized the importance of changing the structure of exports in favor of products with higher added value and updating the mechanisms for promoting the development of Ukrainian exports.

In the future, the results of this work will be analyzed by experts, the business community, industry associations, as well as representatives of government bodies. All these efforts are aimed at creating a strategy that will meet modern challenges and ensure stable development of Ukraine in conditions of global instability.
