Harvesting of more than 28.5 million tons of grain and oil crops has been completed in Ukraine

At the beginning of August 2024, the collection of a large part of the crop of grain and oil crops was completed in Ukraine. According to the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food, more than 25 million tons of grain and more than 3.2 million tons of oil crops were collected. In total, the new crop was threshed on an area of ​​more than 7.3 million hectares, which provided a total volume of 28.5 million tons.

Agrarian farms of Poltava, Odesa, Kherson, Kirovohrad and Cherkasy regions completed the collection of early grain and leguminous crops. Already collected today:

- Wheat - on the area of ​​4,465.8 thousand hectares, 19,440.7 thousand tons were harvested;
- Barley - on the area of ​​1,294.1 thousand hectares, 4,819.8 thousand tons were collected;
- Peas - on an area of ​​205.7 thousand hectares, 451.6 thousand tons were collected;
- Ripe - on an area of ​​1,195,500 hectares, 3,236,300 tons were collected.

The agrarians of the Odesa region are leading in grain harvesting, where 1,064.9 thousand hectares have been threshed. In terms of productivity, the Khmelnytsky region leads with an indicator of 65 quintals per hectare.

Currently, farmers of Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv and Kherson regions have started harvesting buckwheat and millet. This process is important for ensuring the country's food security and the stability of the agricultural sector.

Thus, Ukrainian agrarians are actively completing the harvesting of the main crops, focusing their efforts on new stages of the season. The harvesting of buckwheat and millet, as well as the subsequent processing of the crop, are key tasks to ensure the stability of food markets in the country.
