Ukrainian beekeepers successfully export approximately 50-55 thousand tons of honey every year and fulfill their obligations to the countries of the European Union, despite three years of martial law in the country. This was announced by Olena Dadus, head of the Livestock and Breeding Department of the Department of Agrarian Development of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy, ProAgro Group reports.

To date, there are 12 honey producers in Ukraine that have permission to export their products to EU countries. This list can be expanded if other manufacturers apply to the State Production and Consumer Service to confirm the quality of their product and obtain appropriate permits.

Olena Dadus also noted that forecasting this year's honey harvest is a difficult task due to the effects of heat and drought on beekeeping. At this time, it is difficult to estimate what the volume of honey collection will be this year, as these weather conditions can negatively affect the figures.

Despite these challenges, Ukrainian honey producers continue to work actively and maintain high quality standards. They strive to ensure a stable supply of honey to the European market, where the demand for Ukrainian honey remains stable.

In the conditions of martial law, Ukrainian beekeepers demonstrate impressive resilience and adaptability, which allows them to maintain their competitiveness on the international market. However, the heat and drought that are characteristic of this year may become a serious obstacle to achieving the planned production volumes.

In this regard, experts in the agricultural sector call for careful monitoring of weather conditions and their impact on beekeeping in order to respond in time to possible problems and ensure stability in the supply of honey to EU markets.
