State support for insurance of agricultural products in Ukraine: new opportunities for agricultural producers

The Government of Ukraine plans to introduce a new initiative in 2024 aimed at supporting agricultural producers through a crop insurance system. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine.

According to the government's plans, state support will apply to the main winter grain crops, such as wheat, rye and barley, and will be carried out during the winter period. It is expected that up to 60% of the cost of the insurance payment will be compensated from the state budget.

According to the terms of the program, state support will be available to both individual entrepreneurs and legal entities that have signed contracts for the insurance of winter crops on an area of ​​more than 50 hectares. This initiative is aimed at reducing financial risks for agricultural producers and stimulating the stable development of agriculture in Ukraine.

Currently, the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food is actively inviting all interested parties - both individual entrepreneurs and legal entities registered in the State Agrarian Register - to participate in the survey on agricultural product insurance.

In order to answer the question, it is necessary to enter the personal electronic account of the DAR user and go to the "Questionnaires" section. The survey will be conducted from July 4 to 17, 2024, and its results will be used to further shape the state support program in the field of agricultural insurance.

This initiative is designed to ensure greater protection of agro-industrial enterprises from the negative effects of natural and economic factors, to contribute to increasing productivity and increasing the stability of agricultural production in Ukraine.
