According to Valeriy Tkachev, Deputy Director of the Commercial Department of Ukrzaliznytsia JSC, grain railroad traffic has changed its path from the western borders of Ukraine to the south, towards the seaports of Greater Odesa.
As of March 18, the number of grain railcars heading to Izmail increased by 30.56% to 705 railcars. Meanwhile, on the western borders, there has been a slight increase in the volume of grain transportation, for example, on the borders with Poland, Slovakia, and Hungary, and a decrease on the border with Romania.
Mr. Tkachov explained that the transportation of goods across land borders is not currently under threat, and that border railroad crossings are operating normally.
Among other indicators, the daily unloading of grain wagons in the ports of Greater Odesa ranged from 1000 to 1540 wagons per day in March. On average, 104 railcars are unloaded daily, and the average daily figure increased by 10.64% over the week.
