Ukraine has increased the volume of meat exports to the EU: analysis of trends and forecasts

In recent years, Ukraine has significantly strengthened its presence on the European Union market in the field of meat exports. According to the State Statistics Service of Ukraine, the export of meat and its products to the EU increased by 17% in 2023 compared to the previous year and amounted to 208 thousand tons. This indicates a successful strategy for the development of the Ukrainian meat market and confirms the high competitiveness of products.

One of the key factors contributing to this growth is the expansion of export opportunities through the opening of new markets in the European Union. Ukrainian companies are actively working on compliance with the quality and safety standards of EU food products, which allows them to occupy greater positions in these markets.

Chicken and pork remain the most popular types of meat exported from Ukraine to the EU. They make up most of the total volume of exports. In addition, it is worth noting that Ukrainian manufacturers also supply the EU with a significant amount of finished products, such as canned meat and sausage products.

The growth dynamics of meat exports from Ukraine to the EU depends on many factors, including the economic situation in Europe, exchange rates, political relations, etc. However, in general, a positive upward trend is observed, which indicates stable maintenance of consumer demand for Ukrainian meat products in Europe.

In the future, meat exports from Ukraine to the EU may continue to grow, especially taking into account the signing of the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the European Union, which provides for convergence of product quality and safety standards. Such trends indicate the promising development of the Ukrainian meat market and its ability to compete in the international arena.
