Ukrainian grain will receive an important boost thanks to a new agreement with Moldova. According to the Ministry of Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories, transit transportation of Ukrainian agricultural products through Moldova in 2024 will be carried out at a significant discount of 27% from the usual tariffs.

This agreement is the result of successful negotiations and opens up new opportunities for Ukrainian agricultural producers and exporters. The transit discount will provide them with a competitive advantage and promote the development of trade relations between the two countries.

The agreement between the governments of Ukraine and Moldova on the construction of a border crossing across the Dniester River is an additional support for cooperation. This crossing will be located near the settlements of Yampil and Cosăuc, which will further strengthen the infrastructure capabilities for the efficient movement of goods.

The Intergovernmental Ukrainian-Moldovan Mixed Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation signed seven draft protocols in 2023. These projects envisage the introduction of joint control at checkpoints on the Ukrainian-Moldovan state border, which will increase transparency and optimize border processes.

This area of cooperation is becoming an important pillar for both countries, strengthening their economic ties and making joint transit even more profitable for both parties.
