29 дек, 18:08

As of December 21, Ukrainian farmers have successfully harvested 99% of the sunflower crop in the 2023 season, producing 11.97 million tons of grain with an average yield of 2.39 tons per hectare, the Ministry of Agrarian Policy reports.

Kirovograd region is in first place among the regions that have allocated the most land for sunflower this season. Farmers sowed 631 thousand hectares of the crop, increasing the area by 4.4% compared to the previous year.

We would like to emphasize five regions with high average sunflower yields:

Ternopil - 3.35 t/ha;
Khmelnytsky - 3.3 t/ha;
Ivano-Frankivsk - 3.2 t/ha;
Chernivtsi - 3.08 t/ha;
Cherkasy - 2.87 t/ha.

According to USDA forecasts, Ukraine's sunflower harvest in 2023/24 season will reach 14.5 million tons.

The production of oilseeds, including rapeseed, sunflower and soybeans, reached 20.7 million tons as of December 21.

This successful sunflower harvest underscores the strong contribution of Ukrainian farmers to global oilseed production and supports the prospects for agricultural development in Ukraine.
