China increases purchases of corn from Ukraine: 66 thsd tonnes deal

Chinese importers continue to actively purchase feed corn of Ukrainian origin, signing a contract for the supply of 66 thousand tons of this product. According to Ukragroconsult, the deal was concluded this week at a price of $248 per ton on a C&F basis. Deliveries are expected in December and will be made to southern Chinese ports.

This market movement is a testament to the strategic partnership between Ukraine and China in agriculture, and confirms the high quality of Ukrainian feed corn, which is in demand on the international market.

According to the FAO, corn consumption is expected to grow by 148 million tons annually over the next 10 years, marking a 12% increase. Consumption in the United States will grow the most, and this is due to the increased use of corn for biofuel production, which accounts for 40% of the country's total processing of this grain.
