The European Commission plans to allocate a significant amount of €185.9 million to promote sustainable and high-quality EU agri-food products in 2024, targeting the EU's internal market and third countries. This decision is in line with the promotion policy aimed at opening up new market opportunities and supporting sustainable production.

The funding will be split between the internal market (€81.3 million) and third countries (€85.1 million), with a focus on China, Japan, South Korea, Singapore and North America. It is important to note that the UK remains a key market for EU agri-food products.

The European Commission plans to co-finance up to 80% of the selected projects from private operators, as well as conduct its own communication campaigns in third countries. It is expected that this year the emphasis will be on organic agriculture products, promoting sustainable production, reducing environmental impact and improving animal welfare.

It is noted that more than €62 million will be allocated to support ecologically produced agricultural products, including significant funds for organic products. The work program also plans to allocate more than €18 million to promote fresh fruit and vegetables.

The EU's promotion policy is aimed not only at stimulating consumption, but also at increasing production and developing the EU's agri-food sector in the face of economic instability. Whether this will bring new opportunities for Ukrainian farmers and increase exports to the EU is a question that should be addressed in the near future.
