E-Fish: How Ukraine is moving to electronic declaration in fisheries

17 окт, 12:02

Ukraine is introducing a new e-Fish service aimed at simplifying and digitally transforming the commercial fishing and research fisheries sector. The decision to take this step was made by the government, which adopted a resolution on a pilot project aimed at introducing electronic declaration of fishing rights.

This project will be an innovative step in the field of fisheries and will help reduce the administrative burden on fisheries entities. According to the decree, entities planning to engage in commercial fishing or conduct research fishing must submit annual electronic declarations by November 1.

This new service will allow for the preparation, signing and submission of declarations automatically to the e-Fish system. This pilot project is to be implemented for two years.

The Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine believes that e-Fish will simplify the procedure for obtaining permits for fisheries entities, as well as allow them to provide and receive administrative services in electronic form. This, in turn, will help minimize corruption risks.

The launch of the e-Fish system will be announced on the official information resources of the State Agency of Ukraine for Fisheries in the near future.

It is important to note that Ukraine has recently amended its commercial fishing regulations, which have not been updated for more than 20 years. These changes include the requirements necessary for the rational use of aquatic bioresources and their protection, in line with the regulations and needs of the present.

The introduction of e-Fish is an important step in the development of the fisheries sector in Ukraine and will contribute to its more efficient management and conservation of water resources.
