Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba paid an important visit to the Pakistani capital, Islamabad, where he met with his Pakistani counterparts. During the meetings, an agreement was signed on cooperation and support in maintaining the export of Ukrainian grain through the Black Sea.

The press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine confirms that the heads of diplomacy of Ukraine and Pakistan discussed global threats to food security that arise after Russia's withdrawal from the Black Sea Grain Initiative. It is important to note that Dmytro Kuleba's visit to Pakistan was historic, as it was the first time in the diplomatic practice of bilateral relations that a Ukrainian foreign minister had an official meeting with representatives of Pakistan.

Exports of Ukrainian grain through the Black Sea since July 2022 have caused a decline in world flour prices by about 20%. However, Russia's withdrawal from the grain deal could lead to a significant increase in food prices, especially in Asian regions. This situation jeopardizes millions of lives around the world, making them hostage to the Russian government's famine policy. Therefore, Ukraine and Pakistan have agreed to join forces to stop Russia's attempts to use food as an instrument of political pressure and a weapon.

During the meetings with Pakistani officials, Dmytro Kuleba emphasized the need for joint efforts of the two countries to ensure a stable and secure grain corridor through the Black Sea. He also expressed confidence that such cooperation would help prevent acute food crises and contribute to the growth of economic resilience in the region.

It is important to note that the agreement between Ukraine and Pakistan on the preservation of the "grain corridor" is of strategic importance for both countries. Ensuring stable grain exports is an important factor in ensuring food security and stability in the international market. Such cooperation opens up new prospects for the development of trade relations and mutually beneficial cooperation between Ukraine and Pakistan.

To summarize, the agreement to support the preservation of the "grain corridor" has become an important milestone in the mutually beneficial relations between Ukraine and Pakistan. Cooperation in the field of grain exports is of great importance for food stability and security in the region and around the world. Measures agreed by both countries are aimed at preventing acute food crises and ensuring economic resilience. Such joint initiatives confirm the importance of dialogue and cooperation between the two countries in the face of current global challenges.
