In Cherkasy region, farmers have successfully threshed more than 9.5 thousand hectares of field crops. This was stated by the head of the Cherkasy Regional Administration (OVA) Igor Taburets.
According to him, the first yield results are encouraging.
"Currently, the average yield is 5.12 tons per hectare. This exceeds last year's figures. Farmers have favorable weather conditions, and we hope that this situation will continue," emphasized Ihor Taburets.
It is worth noting that the average grain yield across Ukraine is currently 3.36 tons per hectare.
At the moment, farmers in Cherkasy region are harvesting winter barley, rapeseed and peas, and have already started harvesting winter wheat.
This is the second season that farmers have been sowing and harvesting in the midst of a full-scale war.
"Together, we have faced challenges due to damaged logistics, fuel and fertilizer shortages, and problems with sales markets. It is important to emphasize the importance of joint communication and interaction between the government and entrepreneurs. This is the only way to achieve results and overcome all the challenges of the times. Cherkasy region is a real place of agricultural power, with a rich tradition, experience and technology. We not only grow, but also learn to process more and become more competitive. And most importantly, we will ensure maximum food security for Ukraine," emphasized the head of the Cherkasy Regional State Administration.
