Farmers have started harvesting early crops in various regions of the country, including Odesa, Mykolaiv, Dnipro, Kirovohrad, Bukovyna, Lviv, Poltava and Vinnytsia. In addition, harvesting has begun in Donetsk region. This was reported by Kurkul.com.

The head of Donetsk regional administration Pavlo Kyrylenko noted that the total sown area of grain crops in the region this year is 374.3 thousand hectares. This is 17.8 thousand hectares more than in 2022. However, this area is down 64% compared to 2021.

"As long as the war is on and Donetsk region is the epicenter of hostilities, the main efforts should be directed to preserving agriculture, harvesting early grain crops and harvesting in other periods of the year. Due to the occupation of Mariupol and the destruction of logistics chains, the cost of production has increased significantly. The risks associated with growing grain, harvesting, storing and selling it have increased. The enemy does not follow any moral standards and will certainly try to harm the field work. That is why today we paid special attention to the safety of farmers and compliance with the curfew," emphasized Pavlo Kyrylenko.
